I did get the screen porch painted on Saturday. It started with a hornet sting almost immediately after I started. They've made a good size nest between the screen porch and the spare bedroom.
The sting was't too bad yesterday, but today it's really itchy and puffy too (but not in a good way). Still, I'd like to finish this project today and replace the screens except for the ones on the hornet nest side. I should have gone outside in the evening and given them a spray treat for them and their babies but forgot to. Maybe I can spray them right through the screen this morning. I know they will get pretty excited at that but I should be relatively safe behind the screen right?

I know they're weeds but....
They're fine for shed purposes I think...and they're sort of happy looking in a puppydog way. They do have to be kept in check I know...that's one of the reaons I have a lawnmower. I just got done mowing which got me surprisingly hot...but that's summer for you.
One day later and the hollyhock has started blooming. The one in front of the shed is almost black - no girlyhocks for this shed! I don't know what color the others will be but one of them looks pretty red-pink. They're so dramatic!

Root Canal - Where does it hurt most?
Although the jaw is still pretty sore from 2+ hours in the chair, my wallet will be hurting a lot longer.....
Still, at least it's over with and time to go on to happier things. I'm still happy about the arbor idea and have been designing in my head for the last day or so....I wonder if the tooth thing will work it's way into the design? It just might.

Well, There's Always the Garden
No lying - it really did turn out RED!
Flashy snap pea blossoms aye?
Arugula has bolted.
Nasturtiums being Nasturtiums as only they can.
Lola - The rice and Bonita tuna flake carpet spreader....welcome home Mommy!
I went to the dentist today thinking I'd be getting a root canal but got some antibiotics and confirmation that I need a root canal that has been scheduled for next Thursday. The interesting part came when I was informed it would cost $671 out of pocket. When I got home there was about 3/4 cup of Batsmati rice and Bonita Tuna flakes scattered in the kitchen and hall - I'm certain it was intended to represent some kind of welcome-home-you've-had-a-bit-of-a-dissapointing-day sort of gesture. Nevertheless, after thanking the thoughtful kitty for her efforts I felt inclined to review today's garden progress rather than express my full appreciation at that moment. Just as in human life there's always something new in the garden, which is always a comfort and a reminder that all things pass. It's not always exactly what you want but as they say - It's the thought that counts aye?

Appease-eotomy?
My friend Sarah volunteered: When a person feels that their life is spent ignoring their own wants and wishes in order to appease others' does it not warrant an?....
