New Years Eve Feast

Last night Sarah and I had a seafood themed Eve complete with Oysters with Mignonette sauce and caviar, Maine shrimp and coconut rice, green beans with smoked almonds, smoked salmon, and smoked oysters and jalapeno cheddar cheese. I think I covered it...besides the fine conversation and only 1 minor Oyster shucking injury to my right index finger. Fun was had by all including M. Henri.
Today was just a wee bit less fun since we woke up to no hot water....an hour and a half later it was back thanks to the hair dryer I keep under the house for just that purpose. It sure was cold last night but now it's warmed up to be in the balmy teens. Hope there's hot water in the morning.

Glad to hear the hot water is back. They say the wind chill today brings the temps to 10 below. Brrr. It is also nice to revisit the festive repast via photos. Mmmm.

Several days later and I am still dreaming of oysters.

Yes they were dreamy no? I feel as though I need to exercise my newfound shucking skills so as to try and avert the "new shucker" injuries I incurred on the eve. Let's keep that in mind aye? Perhaps there's Mexican flavor oyster recipes that can be concocted?
